Please update to the latest version of iStat Menus. MacOS 10.11 introduced some changes that mean iStat Menus 5.1 and earlier will not run. iStat Menus does not attempt to actually see your contacts, but we believe the alert is linked to asking to read the calendar, which we need to do to display calendar events. Currently, we think it is just happening on macOS 10.12 Sierra, and when we attempt to access the calendar (to show calendar events in iStat Menus’ time dropdown).
We are investigating an issue where macOS 10.12 Sierra asks if iStat Menus can have access to your contacts.
